Blueprint Gaming Casinos

Blueprint Gaming has really taken the UK’s slotting market by storm lately, plus they have also significantly expanded their global reach. With the demise in the UK of Barcrest (or rather, the devouring of Barcrest by SG Digital) Blueprint Gaming can now be considered the number one provider of real-world slots cabinets in the country. Many pubs and most arcades will now have at least one of Blueprint Gaming’s cabinets, hosting the majority of the company’s slot titles.

For the rest of the wagering world, Blueprint Gaming are much more well-known for their online slots than for slotting cabinets (as other companies hold those markets – Novomatic in Europe, Ainsworth in Australia and IGT in the Americas). You can enjoy the majority of Blueprint Gaming’s top-of-the-range slots at online casinos, slots sites and even bingo sites no matter which jurisdiction you happen to reside in.

Below you will find a list of the best places you should hunt out if you want to enjoy Blueprint Gaming’s range of online slotting titles.

All About Blueprint Gaming – Online Casino Software Providers

There are two sides to Blueprint Gaming. The Blueprint Gaming aspect of the company deals with software, creating games that can be played online or via one of Blueprint’s cabinets. The other side of the operation is called – appropriately enough – Blueprint Operations. This deals with the hardware side of things, creating the cabinets in which Blueprint Gaming’s games can be enjoyed in the real world. Presently, there are around 100,000 Blueprint Operations cabinets housed all over Europe. That may sound like a lot, but Blueprint still has a way to go if they want to catch up with the leaders in this sector, Blueprint.

Blueprint Gaming began life in a quiet humble way, commencing operations in the UK (although, for reasons that are not wholly clear, the company was registered in Atlanta, Georgia in the US) in a small market town called Newark in the north of the county of Nottinghamshire. The person behind the creation of Blueprint was Darren Breese, who’d been born in the UK but ended up as an operations manager in Atlanta. Breese would remain the CEO of Blueprint Gaming until the beginning of 2019 when he left to help create Storm Gaming Technology.

The big break for Blueprint Gaming came in 2008 when they were noticed by the German company the Gauselmann Group, which purchased a 50% stake in them. Gauselmann were mainly interested in the software side of things, but the company incorporates both Blueprint Gaming and Blueprint Operations.

Since 2008 Blueprint Gaming has churned out a steady stream of online slots. They perhaps have no as-yet landed many major slotting hits, but they certainly have enjoyed plenty of minor ones. The future remains bright for them, nonetheless.

Jackpots & RTP

Especially with the release of the new Megaways slots, Blueprint Gaming casinos have become more searched for than ever before. Their games will offer a lot, with the best one currently being Genie Jackpot Megaways, promising to pay as much as 48,000x the round’s stake.

Besides huge fixed payouts, such as those coming from the Megaways releases, they also have some games which offer progressive jackpots, definitely something to look into. Several of those are in the Vegas Millions network, others are contributors to Jackpot King.

Looking at the RTP of their games, you tend to get pretty good returns from them, though plenty of room for improvement exists. Quite a few are somewhere between 95% and 96%, plenty at the lower end of that. A couple of examples exist, of slots with above 96% RTP though, such as Safari Gold Megaways or Diamond Mine Megaways. I’ve also found several that are below 95%, especially if we’re talking about titles with progressive jackpots.

Themes & Graphics

The themes of their games are fine for the most part, though they rarely deliver something truly unique. Of course, it’s not the case with their branded games, which you can only get from them, and usually, they’re based on fairly popular movies, though not the ones that would be truly expensive to acquire the rights to.

Now, when it comes to graphics, this part is mostly fine. It’s not something that would get a player to try out their games though. They just manage to put out better-looking slots than Big Time Gaming in the Megaways category, but that’s not saying much.

Special Features

When it comes to special features, we find here the main reason why a lot of players like their content. They’re a good fit for the Megaways franchise, because they try to innovate as well, and they add cool new games to the category. Blueprint Gaming casinos go up in numbers, and it’s a result of the gameplay that results from the way they work on their slot machines.

To mention some of the common features that you find in their slots, there will be cascading reels, multipliers, wilds, free spins, bonus games and plenty of random modifiers that can improve on the game in some way.

The Leading Blueprint Gaming Games

The titles released over time by Blueprint Gaming have been something of an eclectic mix. The company does seem to rely on media tie-ins much of the time, but their titles have really yet to hit the heights achieved by others. Here though are quite rundowns of three of Blueprint Gaming’s best.

Harry Trotter: Pig Wizard

If you’ve seen The Simpsons movie, you’ll know that Homer’s pet pig Spider Pig becomes a porcine Harry Potter known as Harry Plopper. With better writers, they would have come up with Harry Trotter instead. This Harry Potter homage slot is one of Blueprint Gaming’s better games, with good graphics and some nice bonus features.

Ted (Megaways)

The Simpsons rival Family Guy’s creator Seth McFarlane came up with the concept of Ted, which he turned into a movie. A little boy is granted a wish in which he magics his teddy bear into life. The movie catches up with them 27 years later and now Ted has become a pot-smoking, womanising, foul-mouthed degenerate. This original Ted slot was released in 2017 and because something of a hit and was then followed up by Ted Megaways in 2020.

Plants vs. Zombies

Plants vs. Zombies is the name of a series of hit Flash-like games that can be played on mobiles and computers. Blueprint Gaming gained the licence to develop a slotting version of the game which they released in 2016. This game had all the original imagery of the popular title plus some really good features. Not quite as successful as the original game, but playable and enjoyable at the very least.

Final Thoughts on Blueprint Gaming

There are very few companies that manage to be successful in both the real slotting world and the online one (indeed many famous real-world slotting names such as Bally, Barcrest and WMS have fallen on hard times and have either ceased to function or have been swallowed up by other companies, so it is always good to see a company that has managed to maintain both an online and real-world presence.

There’s no doubt that Blueprint Gaming is doing very well, but they maybe could be doing a little better if they made the effort to improve the standard of their games. Many of their titles are still worth playing though, so make sure you check them out at one of Casino Digest many recommended online casinos.
